Hi! I’m Kylie Izquierdo! I’m a mum, a Clinician and an Infant and Child Sleep Consultant with more than 13 years’ experience working with families. I help exhausted mums get better sleep by getting their little ones to sleep consistently through the night by using a range of gentle methods.

It wasn’t so long ago that I was frustrated with the advice from friends, family, colleagues and even health professionals about how I should sleep train my little one… and I wasn’t even having sleep issues with my little one at the time! I remember one doctor appointment for my son’s 6-month check-up and vaccinations, a male doctor decided to tell me that at this age I should let my little one cry it out and not take the path of a martyr that his wife did by breastfeeding their child to sleep until they were 2 years old.

Um. HELLO? I didn’t even mention anything about sleep concerns, nor did I get a chance to respond before he gallantly went on with the check-up. I was so angered that I had to experience this. What does he know about sleep? What training or knowledge does he have on the matter? Who gives him the right to give me unsolicited advice about sleep training my little one without even considering my values or parenting style?

I went on to make it my mission to help other mums who experience this same thing – day in – day out. Completely exhausted from sleep deprivation and fraught with stress and worry about how their child is developing and when the next wake up will be and how long they’ll be up for.
